FAQ:

What does a runner do?
The job of a runner is very versatile. In addition to being responsible for keeping the coffee pot full, the runner must be a standby to solve every conceivable problem. The runner is the only one on the set who does not know what the day will bring. You should therefore have the ability to think practically and stay in control in stressful situations.

What is the runner's salary at PRODUKTIONEN.DK?
The salary of a runner can vary. It can depend on factors like the type of project and its duration. In film productions, wages are determined in accordance to feature films tariff, which is kr. 5,541, - per week (kr. 5,956 incl. pension).

In commercials wages are higher, but then there are usually just a few days of work. This is the salary based on length of the workday:

Less than 8 hours: 1.200,- (+ social costs)
8 - 13 hours: 1.500,- (+ social costs)
More than 13 hours: 1.800,- (+ social costs)

Salary is paid on the last working day of the month and covers the period from the 20th till 19th. Therefore, if you were working on 22nd of January, you wouldn’t get paid until the 30th of February.

What are working hours like?
It can be difficult to define working hours for people working with film productions, as projects vary greatly. The following is therefore based on our own experience of working hours.
The runner is typically the first one on-site
, and the last one to go home. Working hours from Monday to Friday are usually from 6 am. to approx. 5 pm. There is rarely work on Saturday and Sunday.

Do I have time to study as well as work?
Many runners in our network study at university and occasionally accept jobs. It is not possible however, to study once you are in a production as the days are long, and require all your energy. As a result, in the evenings you will probably be too exhausted to open a book.

Does it cost anything to be in PRODUKTIONEN.DK 's Network?
No, it's free. Administration of the network, insurance and payroll is financed by a premium of kr. 200, paid by the production company by booking a runner. This way it does not cost a penny for the runner to be a member. All we require is that you meet our conditions.

How do I get started?
First fill out the application form. You will then be contacted by PRODUKTIONEN.DK and you will be introduced to the network. You will then start receive job offers regularly.

Is it worthwhile to work for free?
It's our philosophy that it is, but PRODUKTIONEN.DK highly recommend that you only work for free on non-budget productions: projects/productions in which everybody on the crew works for free (National Danish Film School, Super16 etc.). It is also only on these type of productions that PRODUKTIONEN.DK helps to find free labour. We recommend that all new runners try out the job on these types of productions because they are often an opportunity to meet new people and get some valuable experience with the profession.

Note! Due to many applications, we currently have a long response time of about 1-2 month.
